Location: Yiyili Community via Halls Creek
Description: Regional Partnerships funds were used to build a covered area for visitors to rest and have lunch when visiting Laarri Gallery at Yiyili Aboriginal Community. Yiyili’s corporation is looking to promote and explore further opportunities to create enterprise links and interaction between tourists, community members and secondary students and this facility provided a focus for such enterprise.

Project Name: Lombadina Multipurpose Centre

Location: Lombadina Community (Dampier Peninsula)
Description: Regional Partnerships funding will be used to construct a Multipurpose Centre at Lombadina Aboriginal Community on the Dampier Peninsular. The Centre will be used for training, meetings, conferences, concerts, cultural ceremonies, receptions and similar activities. It will incorporate all facets of a function centre, including catering area and communications (eg: video conferencing, internet access). The centre will also incorporate a gallery displaying the work of local artists and a visitor information area.
Project Name: PRK Radio Facilities Upgrade
Regional Partnerships Funding: $240,000 inc GST
Recipient: Puranyangu-Rangka Kerrem (Aboriginal Radio) Aboriginal Corporation
Location: Halls Creek
Description: Regional Partnerships funding will be used to expand existing broadcasting services by adding a reception area, office and staff accommodation to the existing building (pictured above). This will provide necessary workspace to employ more staff, including Indigenous trainees, and will allow the Station Manager to be a permanent resident.

Project Name: Yaruman Art and Culture Building
Funding: $324,500 inc GST

Location: Kundat Djaru Aboriginal Community (Ringers Soak) via Halls Creek
Description: Regional Partnerships funding assisted with the construction of an improved arts centre. This provided the remote community of Ringers Soak with an income stream and provides opportunities for younger members of the community to become involved in art production.

Project Name: Mangkaja Arts Archive and Studio Development

Location: Fitzroy Crossing
Description: Regional Partnerships funding assisted in providing a new studio and archive facility for the local Indigenous artists of the Fitzroy Crossing area. The project has provided increased opportunities for solo artist exhibitions and sales as well as correct storage of important archival material.

Location: Balgo via Halls Creek
Description: Regional Partnerships funding assisted the Warlayirti Artists Aboriginal Corporation to establish an administration building to accommodate staff from the Corporation.

Description: Regional Partnerships funding enabled the employment and training 15 Aboriginal interpreters for the Kimberley, to facilitate communication between the local community and service providers.
