AREA CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE

The Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government announced on 20 March 2008 that Area Consultative Committees would provide the basis for the creation of Regional Development Australia
The Kimberley Area Consultative Committee is transitioning to Regional Development Australia – Kimberley.


The Australian Government is interested in what you want from Regional Development Australia (RDA). We are holding community forums across the Kimberley to gain expertise and opinion on the future of RDAs and to develop a new regional community infrastructure program for the 2009-10 budget. ABOUT US

The Kimberley Area Consultative Committee is an apolitical, non-profit, community-based organisation. It is the key regional network for the Australian Government, consulting with business, community organisations, Local Government, statutory authorities, Government departments and agencies. Core functions of the Kimberley Area Consultative Committee include:

  • Identifying regional opportunities offering sustainable economic and social outcomes,
  • Building community capacity, finding local solutions to local problems,
  • Promoting Australian Government programs and whole-of-Government initiatives,
  • Providing advice and feedback to the Australian Government.

Regional Partnerships Program Closed

The Hon Anthony Albanese MP Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government announced that the Sustainable Regions and the Regional Partnerships program will be replaced by the new Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program from 2009 / 2010 and our Better Regions Program.
